Elvie Catch

Empowering breast feeding mothers

Project team
Juliette Bouilly, Jo Barnard
Year
2020

Brief

To design a one-size-fits-all breast milk collector for mothers to use when they are pumping or feeding from the other breast or to wear discreetly during the day.

Narrative

Seemless and intuitive, the design was created to simply press onto the breast, with the flexible skirt forming a seal to hold the collector cup in place and preventing leaks.

Outcome

Working alongside the Elvie team, we designed and engineered the Elvie Catch ready for launch.

I love this product. I over produce and let down easily so having this product when I'm feeding the other side or pumping has saved me a lot of lost milk. They fit well under clothing and are comfortable. Would recommend these to anyone looking for a better product than pads.

CASE STUDY

Working with Elvie

Elvie is on a mission to improve women’s lives through technology and considered design and the last few years have seen them launch a range of incredible products from an app-enabled breast pump to a Kegel trainer.

In 2020 we were fortunate enough to be able to support them on the design and development of the Elvie Catch. A simple breast milk collector designed to be used either in conjunction with their Elvie Pump or simply as a way to stay leak-free throughout the day.

Working closely with the Elvie team we produced a range of prototypes over a 6 month period to validate the size, shape, seal and user experience. This attention to detail has resulted in a beautifully simple, intuitive product that truly reflects the Elvie brand.
