CASE STUDY

In 2017 Californian based startup Airbeats set out to to take a music lovers instinct to ‘airplay’ to their favourite tunes and turn this into a smart music experience. We worked with them to design the devices, branding, packaging, UI, and UX.

User experience

The Airbeats device can be used as drumsticks, a guitar or violin fretboard and even piano keys that let you hear your music as you play by connecting wirelessly to your headphones. A totally new type of product which had to feel like musical instruments; we took inspiration from the the neck and fretboard of a violin to create an intuitively directional smart device that fits comfortably in the hand.
